Ben Anderson Design
Despite creating various forms of sports designs for over 15 years, I have never had more than just a single logo for my personal branding. It felt like time to make a more formal visual identity for myself. Through this project, I wanted to combine my history as a sports fan and uniform enthusiast with my interests as a designer.
This project provided a fun opportunity to step back and analyze my history as a designer. I would spend hours browsing sportslogos.net and drawing various sports logos and uniforms. I eventually transitioned into digital designs as well, starting in Paint, working with GIMP and Inkscape, and eventually moving on to the Adobe Creative Suite.

One of the main subjects of my interest, both as a fan and a designer, has always been college basketball. I also enjoy the current popularity of vintage aesthetics in sports, whether that be many teams creating “modern classic” looks, or the increased prevalence of throwback uniforms. This lead me in the direction of rooting my identity in the typography found in vintage college sports (primarily basketball) uniforms, as I felt it connected strongly to my interests both currently and historically.
